Brooklyn-based vocalist, producer, and visual artist Kathy Yaeji Lee (aka, Yaeji) will be performing at Union Transfer in Philly this Wednesday, November 7th (tickets are still available to purchase here). Yaeji first gained widespread attention following her Boiler Room session in 2017, which included a cover/remix of Drake’s “Passionfruit”. She sings and raps in both Korean and English on bangers like “Raingurl” (from her 2017 release EP2) where she blends house music and hip hop and contrasts her drum-heavy beats with a mellow and whispery vocal delivery (see music video for “Raingurl” below).
