Read previous – Luna Li at World Cafe Live
Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire Luna Li performed at PhilaMOCA on Friday, September 20th. She’s currently touring in support of her recently released sophomore LP When a Thought Grows Wings. Swapping between guitars, flute, violin, and harp, Luna Li (or rather Hannah Bussiere Kim) seamlessly moved through her setlist of chill and ethereal tracks; however, she grooves hard on tracks like “Confusion Song”, “I Imagine”, and “I Would Let You”. About midway through her set, she performed an instrumental medley of jams EP tracks including all-time banger “2516”. Does anyone else think that song is way too short? I’m gonna need a 3-minute version of that one. For her encore, she performed an unreleased track and closed out the night with “Afterglow”, during which she recruited a fan in the crowd to singalong with her on the mic.
Luna Li will be continuing her North American tour through mid-October – see all of her upcoming tour dates here. Watch the visualizer video for When a Thought Grows Wings track “Confusion Song” below and keep scrolling to see more photos from the show (including opener Jahnah Camille).
