Plains (i.e., the duo of Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee and Jess Williamson) gave such a comfy show on a cold November night. The soft lights of White Eagle Hall filled the room as the duo made their way onto the stage to which the crowd cheered, whistled, and screamed in delight. As Plains, Crutchfield and Williamson recently released their debut album titled I Walked With You A Ways, which they brought to life on stage. Their sublime sounds and soft harmonies could melt hearts. Not only did they play songs from their debut album, but they even collaborated on a few songs from each other’s catalogs. This included “Lilacs” and “Can’t Do Much” from Crutchfield and “Wind of Tin” from Williamson. Later in the night, opener MJ Lenderman joined them on stage for a cover of “Amarillo Highway” by Terry Allen. The show was an absolute blast. Although Plains has a more country sound to them, they drew a diverse crowd – from children to some punks and older individuals, everyone came together for a night of amazing music.
Plains is just about to wrap up their North American tour – see all of their upcoming tour dates here. Check out their music video for “Hurricane” below and keep scrolling to see more photos from the show.
