Celebrating their 8th year in the borough, Flemington DIY capped off their day of grand reopening festivities on May 14th with a show in the new space – in true DIY fashion, it was a 4-band bill featuring local NJ acts Crystal Violet, Lightheaded, and Those Looks, as well as touring artist Julia Blair. After having lost their space on Main Street, they moved into an even bigger and better space on Stangl Road – an area which is being rebranded as the borough’s fancy schmancy arts and cultural district. The next show at Flemington DIY is coming up on Monday, May 23rd – it’s a pretty sick lineup featuring Posture & The Grizzly, Perspective, a lovely hand to hold, and Ogbert the Nerd. While I’m ecstatic to have live music back so close to home, Flemington DIY is much more than that – it’s an inclusive community and space that hosts numerous other programs.
