Dirty Hit signee Wallice to play first Philly show on Friday, 2/4

Come for the bops, stay for the self-deprecating and autobiographical lyrics.

Rising indie pop artist (and self-proclaimed jazz school dropout) Wallice will be playing Franklin Music Hall in Philly on Friday, February 4th where she’s opening for tourmate Still Woozy (tickets available here).

The LA-based artist (whose full name is Wallice Hana Watanabe) gained a nearly immediate audience after her 2020 debut track “Punching Bag” was featured on Spotify’s Lorem playlist (which currently boasts over 900,000 followers). Wallice has since released her debut EP Off the Rails and also announced her recent signing to Dirty Hit Records where she’ll be labelmates with the likes of beabadoobee, Rina Sawayama, and Wolf Alice.

The current tour will see Wallice joining Still Woozy through at least the Spring, but I’ll be staying tuned for the announcement of a headlining tour to follow. Wallice released another single (“Wisdom Tooth“) at the end of 2021 and has stated plans to release 2 more EPs this year. You can check out her video for “23” from her Off the Rails EP below.
