Big Thief closed out their 2021 US Fall Tour with a second sold out night at Union Transfer in Philly on Saturday, October 2nd. For a band that hails from Brooklyn, Big Thief has an impressive Philly fanbase, making the city an understandable choice for the band to wrap up their tour with back-to-back performances.
Even in a sold-out venue, Big Thief has a unique means of making it seem like you’re the only one in the room as the band performs. You begin to feel as if you’re privy to an incredibly intimate experience. Lead singer Adrianne Lenker has the appearance of a soft-spoken indie-folk-rocker, but don’t let that fool you. She is heavy on the rock, bringing pure grit and passion to her vocals, meeting her bandmates at center stage for an energetic mid-show jam session, and dripping sweat within the first few songs of the set.
The band performed their latest single, “Certainty“, along with some older favorites like 2019’s “Not” and 2017’s “Shark Smile”. Check out the full setlist below and keep scrolling to see more photos from the show.
Adrianne Lenker will be back out on the road again soon for a solo tour and will be playing White Eagle Hall in Jersey City on Tuesday, November 9th. If you act quick, tickets for that show are still available here.
