The last time rapper/singer/flautist phenom Lizzo played Philly, she sent out DMs offering free tickets just to get people to come out to the show. Fast-forward to the present day and she’s practically a household name and playing sold out shows across the country (her entire tour sold out in a day). Fresh off the release of her major label debut Cuz I Love You (her 3rd full length LP), Lizzo performed to an energetic and packed crowd at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philly on Saturday, May 18th. Lizzo is on top of the world and finally getting the exposure and recognition she deserves – while the catalyst for this current momentum can probably be traced back to this moment from last year, it was only a matter of time until it happened. Her latest single “Tempo” (featuring the legendary Missy Elliott) is the banger of the summer (listen below).
Lizzo was just recently added to the lineup of this year’s Made In America festival, taking place on the Ben Franklin Parkway in Philly from August 31st-September 1st. She’ll also be be playing The Met Philly on September 18th – a limited number of tickets to that show are still available here.
