Wet + Kilo Kish @ Asbury Lanes | Asbury Park, NJ (3/2/2019)

Columbia Records recording duo Wet performed at Asbury Lanes on Saturday, March 2nd. They recently kicked off their North American tour (a joint tour with Kilo Kish) in support of their sophomore LP Still Run (released in mid-2018). Up-and-coming singer-songwriter/prodigy (and real-life Swiftie) Hana Vu played a solo opening set and scored some major brownie points with the crowd (i.e., mostly me) after performing a downtempo cover of “WANEGBT”.

Despite the band forming just across the bay in Brooklyn (and having multiple North American and international tours under their belt), Wet singer-songwriter-frontwoman Kelly Zutrau mentioned that this was their first ever show in the Garden State. Like their studio LPs, their live set spans the pop spectrum from the the R&B-inspired “Body” to the country-inspired “This Woman Loves You”. Midway through their set, Zutrau performed solo on the autoharp including new song “Trust No Man” (followed by other new track “Old Bone” joined by the whole band). Though not quite a sold out crowd, the zealous audience made up for it and packed the area in front of the stage and sang along to every lyric. At the end of the night, a few stragglers were even treated to a meeting with Tina (Zutrau’s very vocal backstage pooch). See Wet’s full setlist below, as well as all of Wet & Kilo Kish’s upcoming tour dates. Also, watch the official video for “There’s A Reason” (the lead single from Still Run).
