Singer-songwriter Lissie performed in the ‘burbs of Philly at Sellersville Theater on Thursday, January 24th. Lissie is currently finishing out the last stretch of her tour of North America in support of her 4th studio LP, Castles, which was released in March 2018.
Playing solo acoustic in a seated venue, it was an intimate and relaxed vibe with Lissie taking sips of wine in between songs and chatting with the audience from the stage. Her setlist, handwritten on a torn-out piece of notebook paper, consisted of songs across all of her albums. Notable was her inclusion of “Wild West” (from 2016’s My Wild West), which was featured in the Twin Peaks 2017 revival series on Showtime. Self-described as probably being most well-known for her covers (with Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness” being one of her most viewed), she rarely plays them live; however, she treated the audience to a rare performance of Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way”. She closed out the night with “Ojai” (her closing track from My Wild West), which features the lyrics “so goodbye, I know I’m gonna see you, again, and I’ll be thinking of you until then…” See Lissie’s full setlist below, as well as a video of her performing “Ojai”.
