Lykke Li performed at Union Transfer in Philly on Monday, 10/8 – she is currently touring North America in support of her latest LP so sad so sexy, her long-awaited follow-up from 2014’s I Never Learn. On so sad so sexy, Lykke Li explores more experimental aspects and dabbles with trap beats and lyrical flow. While it’s a big departure in sound from the torch song ballad-heavy I Never Learn, it’ll still make you plenty sad. It’s an evolution that might be a love-it or hate-it affair for her longer-time fans; however, I’m squarely in the love-it camp. Lykke Li’s set skewed heavy on her most recent albums, but performed early crowd favorites “Little Bit” and “I Follow Rivers”. She closed out the night with a cover of Usher’s “U Got It Bad” (she recently released a studio recording of this song on Spotify). See Lykke Li’s full setlist below.
