Up-and-coming singer-songwriter Jillette Johnson will be performing at the Tin Angel in Philly on Wednesday, August 14th. Tickets for the show are currently still available and can be purchased here.
Johnson first gained prominence with the standout track “Cameron”, an inspirational number that explores the struggles of a transgendered person (watch the music video below). The song appears on her excellent just-released debut LP Water in a Whale. Another standout track from the album is “Pauvre Coeur”, a deeply personal and heartbreaking tale about the demise of a relationship (similar in mood to Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata”).
