Always known for putting on high-energy shows, Brooklyn’s Matt & Kim took over the House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ with loads of confetti, balloons, and an abundance of booty dancing (read show preview here). The duo are currently touring in support of their latest LP Lightning (listen on Spotify). You can see the rest of their upcoming tour dates here. Opening the show were Philly natives Cruiser.
In an attempt to exploit a well known cross-state rivalry, Matt and Kim asked their fans ahead of the show on Facebook who could rock harder: NJ or PA. Given the overall boisterousness of the audience, it’s a safe bet to say it was a draw. They told fans this would be the longest set of their tour, playing everything from earlier fan-favorites such as “Daylight” (not to be mistaken with this drivel) to their newest single “It’s Alright” (which was spectacular, but of course not quite the same without them demonstrating various “positions” as in their music video).
Following the popularity of their 11+ million viewed Harlem Shake video, they treated the audience to a follow-up rendition. Even with a sprained ankle, Kim still managed to do her infamous crowd surf/booty dance (after taking appropriate safety precautions and putting her boot on). You can always count on Matt and Kim to put on a great show, and it was nothing less in AC.
