West Coast up-and-comers Hunter Hunted performed at the upstairs stage at World Cafe Live in Philly on 4/3. Consisting primarily of Dan Chang (on vox and guitar) and Michael Garner (on vox and keys), Hunter Hunted just recently released their self-titled debut EP in which they “weave intricate vocal harmonies and heart beat rhythms into voluminous soaring songs that toe the line between California indie and folk rock” – those are clearly not my words, but I ditto that sentiment. You can listen to Hunter Hunted’s debut EP in its entirety on Spotify and see the rest of their tour dates here.
Below is the official music video for their post-apocalyptic track “End of the World”. Go here to see them performing “Keep Together” on Conan O’Brien. Bonus: do some searching around YouTube and you’ll find that Hunter Hunted have done some pretty rad collaborations. Watch a video of Hunter Hunted performing a cover of “Surf Wax America” with Weezer’s own Brian Bell. Here, the boys do a cover of The Lumineers’ ubiquitous “Ho Hey” with the lovely Ms. Kina Grannis – oh, those harmonies.
