DeVotchKa performed at the Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia on 3/8 (read show preview here). During the show, frontman Nick Urata mentioned that the last time DeVotchKa performed at the Troc was almost exactly 10 years ago (while touring as the backing band for noted burlesque/fetish entertainer Dita Von Teese). Backed by a chamber orchestra, DeVotchKa treated the audience to songs from across their discography and ended the night with an encore performance of “How It Ends“. Pearl and the Beard opened the show.
