Jersey’s own Nicole Atkins performed at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia on 3/2 (read show preview here). Nicole is currently wrapping up supporting the EELS on their US Tour. Puddles Pity Party opened the show.
Nicole played a stripped down solo set, a departure from her usual performance with her band The Sea (or, alternately, The Black Sea). Here’s a video from the show of Nicole performing “Maybe Tonight”, the opening track from her fantastic 2007 LP Neptune City. Below is the official music video for that song (note ukulele cameo). Her latest studio LP Mondo Amore can be streamed on Bandcamp or Spotify. Her live LP Till Dawn (recorded in 2011 at the Music Hall of Williamsburg) can currently be downloaded for free here. And, while you’re at it, do yourself a favor and listen to Neptune City.
